Theodor Kern: Abstracts

Luton Culture presents a new display of Theodor Kern’s abstract works, using watercolour and ink. These works have never previously been on display.

Austrian born artist Theodor Kern (1900-1969) started his early painting career in the early 1920s. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, and was a diverse artist trying his hand at many different styles.

Abstract art is art that does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality but instead use shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect

The paintings will be on display in the main corridor of Wardown House.
