In June 1948, Flight Lieutenant Smythe was the Welfare Officer on board the Empire Windrush, and the film explores the crucial role he played in shaping modern Britain. The drama also highlights other notable RAF personnel Sam King and Baron Baker's contribution to the Windrush legacy.
