Chinese New Year

Join us in celebrating the Year of the Tiger with immersive performers, a selection of the best Far Eastern cuisine and live music and DJ. The event will take place in The Hat District, Bute Street, Luton.

Friday

12 noon to 11pm

Food and stalls from 12 noon to 11pm, including Kalasin Catering – Authetic Thai food made fresh to order.

From 6pm to 11pm there will be live music, Lion Blessing and Chinese drummers

Saturday

12 noon to 6pm

  • Food and sellers
  • Demos and soap making workshops from Lush
  • Chinese fan veil dancing
  • Lion Blessings
  • Dragon dancers
  • Children’s dance workshops incorporating parasol and fan dances, and Lion dance
  • Children’s orient inspired crafts using recycled materials – in the Mall Smith Square outside Lidl

Chinese New Year is part of Luton Street Fest, a series of three events taking place in Jan, Feb and March, which are funded by the Welcome back Fund.
