A new sitar piece commissioned from zerOclassikal Extrapolate series, Amisha explores the four elements of nature - Wind, Water, Earth, Fire within the connection to the prediction of Britain’s people and climate affected by global warming.

Amisha has been playing Sitar and preforming since the age of 12. She has worked with the BBC Concert Orchestra, and Grand Union Orchestra ( and being part of their Re-generation band), as well appearing on various on BBC Radios. Performers Biographies

Amisha is an emerging sitarist and composer who has been working with zerOclassikal for her professional development. Her passion for music drove her on to study BMus(Hons) Music Performance and Music Management at the London College of Music, where she started creating music with Sitar in original songs and instrumental tracks in the genres of Pop, Folk, Rock, and Fusion. Amisha has been part of the BBC Concert Orchestra where she performed at The Royal Festival Hall, a concert called Raga Mela - The Spirit of India blended with the West. More recently, she has been by commissioned as zerOclassikal’s Extrapolate series to create an original composition for the sitar.

 

Celia graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, in 2003 and is well-respected as a specialist recorder performer and educator. As a member of the recorder ensemble, The Flautadors, Celia has performed at London’s Purcell Room and Wigmore Hall as well as at major Early Music festivals throughout the UK. The Flautadors have released five critically acclaimed albums, gaining a reputation for their research, varied programming and development of new works for the instrument. In 2021, The Flautadors premiered Cheryl Frances Hoad’s Pieces of Light, in celebration of their twentieth anniversary. Celia has been broadcast on BBC Radio including interviews and live performance on Radio 3s “In Tune”. Alongside more typical repertoire, Celia enjoys exploring diverse collaborations, including performing on The Awakening film score at Abbey Road Studios, the video premiere of Raga Pahadi by Jonathan Mayer (2021), recording new repertoire for recorder and ukulele with Donald Bousted (2021) and performing with Vashti Bunyan at the Barbican (2022) and The Roundhouse (2024).

 

Dhanraj began his training at the age of 14 and follows the playing style of the Jaipur and Farukkhabad gharanas of tabla. Not only is Dhanraj an accomplished tabla player but also an experienced vocalist. Dhanraj has performed extensively around the UK and is fast becoming a much sought after performer within the Indian classical music scene in this country. With zerOclassikal, Dhanraj has performed as part of Back to the Lounge: Baithak Sessions at Rich Mix London.
