Kathak Summer Dance Camp

Join Pagrav Dance Company for this exciting one-day workshop and achieve your Discover Arts Award.  

Pagrav means ‘the sound of feet’. Specialising in the Indian classical dance of Kathak, Pagrav Dance Company expresses stories through movement, especially footwork and facial gesture, to celebrate an ancient tradition and its potential to empower people and enhance lives. 

During this one-day workshop, you will experience a 20-minute performance by Pagrav Dance Company. You will work alongside the performers in a dynamic workshop to learn about Kathak dance and develop your own creative and performance skills. You will be able to interview the dancers to discover more about their work, recording everything in your personal creative logbook to achieve your Discover Arts Award. At the end of the day, you will be invited to share your arts award journey with friends and family through performance, demonstration, or a presentation.  

Arts Award Discover is the start of the Arts Award adventure. It takes children and young people on an artistic journey as they explore the arts all around them, investigate different art forms, research an artist, and then share their discoveries with others.  

Some notes: Packed lunch, comfortable clothes (be aware we will be dancing in bare feet)
