Meet Vernon. He’s worked at Wardown Park for as long as anyone can remember, and he’s got plenty of stories to tell, ranging from the mystical to the downright spooky! Join Vernon for a night of local ghost stories, strange happenings and trip down memory lane.

About the Actor

Simon Tweed plays Vernon, The Ghostly Gardener

Simon began his professional career in the 1980s. Theatre includes; The Glass Menagerie, Macbeth,  Measure for Measure, The Tailor Made Man and national tours of Noises Off, Absurd  Person Singular and Breezeblock Park. Film work includes appearances in Top Secret, Absolute Beginners and Octopussy. Television includes Survival

In the late 1990s he began working in a challenging school in Lewisham and though never intending to leave acting, finding young people a joy, he remained in teaching for seventeen years.

In March 2020 a return to acting saw Simon appear in the short film Porcelain as a troubled father, The Ghostly Gardener, at Wardown House, Luton, marks a return to live theatre performance.
