A Christmas Carol
Grab a mince pie and snuggle up on the sofa and get ready for this classic taleWe didn't want you to miss out on the action, after cancelling our live performances of A Christmas Carol at Wardown House this year, so we have filmed the performance for you to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.
A little about the show:
This magical promenade piece takes you around the beautiful rooms in Wardown House. Telling us the story of A Christmas Carol as Charles Dickens, be prepared to be hear this classic tale told in a way you have never heard before. Wardown favourite - Stuart Turner returns once again this year for this five star winning performance.
"Stuart Turner gave a tour de force performance as the eponymous storyteller Dickens, not only did he lead us through the house and the book with great energy and passion, but he created each character with real vocal and physical skill, seamlessly and artfully blending from one into another. It was the periods of eerie and trepidatious silence that I found most thrilling, with Turner able to hold the audience in the palm of his hand with the unspoken promise of what was yet to come.
Writer Teresa Burns adapted and directed the piece and has created an utter gem of a performance. Displaying both a clear understanding of text and of theatricality. Burns has magically woven this glorious tale into the very fabric of the building" - West End Wilma, ★★★★★
The show will be available to watch right up to New Years eve.
This wonderful adaptation of A Christmas Carol has been made possible by Arts Council NPO funding working with them allows us as a charity bring engaging performances , captivating exhibitions and community projects and events to Luton and not just as Christmas!
But we need your help, this year hasn’t allowed us to thrive as we should have. Not having visitors in our museums, cafes and shops has impacted us greatly. If you enjoyed the film please consider donating £5 (half the cost of a ticket) to allow us to carry on serving the Luton community.
